Why Video? Part 3 - making your content go further

Welcome to the third part of our series on “Why Video.” In part 1, we helped you understand why you need video, in part 2 we explained what you need to make, and in part 3 we’ll be looking at how you make it work once you’ve finalised that 17th “Final” export...

1 - Get your content out there

First and foremost, you need to get your content slapped across your businesses’ web pages.

From your website to your LinkedIn, make sure your video is there for people to see and ensure it’s easily accessible. For instance, when people go on your website, ensure that the video is on the landing page. If it’s posted on Twitter, then pin it to the top of your posts so it’s the first thing everyone sees.

It’s common sense; if you want people to see what you’ve done, make it visible!!!

2 - Share

The cheapest (free) and easiest way of generating interest in your content is by sharing it.

To start, get everyone involved with creating it to post it out on their socials (where possible). Take that a step further by getting your employees to advocate for your business with a share.

Where possible, it’s always worth leaning on other companies you work with to get them to share it for you too; if you do the same for them in the future it will only help strengthen the relationship you have with them.

It might feel like hassle but look at the potential market your reaching:

500 million people are watching videos on Facebook every day, YouTube has over a billion users, almost one-third of all people on the internet. And of course 82% of Twitter users watch video content.*

If that’s not worth the hassle then I don’t know what is!

4 - Re-versioning

You’ve just spent a fair amount of money on a video so ideally, you’ll want to maximise your outlay by stretching it out for a few months. By being a little creative with your footage, and with some simple editing tricks, there are so many ways you can do that.

For instance, you can make short teaser edits, behind the scenes / blooper cuts, Instagram story versions, Instagram 1:1 versions. And so on. The trick is to make your content seem fresh every time people see it, so get creative.

Well there you have it, our 3 part series on making video content work for your business. It’s a lot to take in, but if you do it right you should be converting views into sales in no time.
