The Importance of Using Video for Brands

So you’re taking time out of your day to read this blogpost but the truth is, had we chosen to create a video log (vlog) instead, then statistically there would be a much greater chance of you sticking around at the end of it. Studies prove that you’d be more likely to stay browsing our website for a minimum of two minutes longer after engaging with video content, rather than reading a blog.

As consumers, we live in a fast paced world filled with easily digestible media that can be stimulating, engaging, and often at times entertaining. The human brain decodes a visual image a whopping 60,000 times faster than text. It is hardly surprising then that YouTube is the second biggest website across the planet, and over one billion hours worth of videos are viewed there every single day. Across every single social media platform, posts containing videos out-perform text only posts by huge margins, with Twitter claiming the figure to be an impressive ten times more engagement. 2 billion videos are watched on Twitter alone every day. In a recent poll, Hubspot found that over 81% of businesses now use video for marketing. It’s a tool that continues to see growth in popularity across so many platforms. It’s also the quickest and most effective way to make your brand’s philosophies and personality stand out.

Gone are the days of traditional marketing and mediums; no cold calls or hard sales. Digital media allows the viewer to engage with your brand and products on multiple levels, while making it super easy to communicate a meaningful, and personable connection with the consumer. Across all mediums, the powerful nature of video is clearly visible. Digital media consistantly ranks higher in searches, stay visible on social media longer, and allow brands to penetrate key markets and consumers where traditional methods fail. The value of digital media is priceless in today's fast paced world where every second counts.

Comedian Steve Martin was once quoted as saying the key to success was “be so good they can’t ignore you.” Now is the time to start investing in videos so good, your brand truly stands out amongst the competition, and embodies itself in the forefront of a consumer’s mind.
